We’ve embraced it in the boardroom, the bedroom, and the bathroom. Screens have taken over our lives. Most people spend over eight hours a day staring at a screen, and some “technological innovators” are hoping to grab even more of your eyeball time. You have screens in your pocket, in your car, on your appliances, and maybe even on your face. But there's a different path according to Golden Krishna. He will challenge our world of nagging, screen-based bondage, and shows how we can build a technologically advanced world without digital interfaces.
Susan Weinschenk till share new research on humans and machines, give a glimpse of the near future and what that future means to those who will be designing our future interactions with technology. This will be a must-see for any designer, her talk is called: Robots, Virtual Reality, and Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Human Interaction With Technology. But which of these technologies are here for the long haul? How does having relationships with machines change us? What happens when our interactions with machines becomes indistuishable from our human interactions? Are our “relationships” with machines changing?
Jeffrey Veen will be sharing some of the experiences he had along the way: notably how they used design as the centrepiece for how he structured Typekit, the company he co-founded a few years ago.
– It's a story of how we invested in culture, to grow a team that trusted and respected each other, and how that led to a much better product over time. A lot of what I'll talk about can be taken back and applied to teams of any size, regardless of how much emphasis they put on design in their product development process.
